Rachel and Justin Dr. Phillips Preforming Arts Center
Rachel and Justin’s elegant rooftop wedding at Dr. Phillips Preforming Arts Center was nothing short of SPECTACULAR!!! Such a great couple, wonderful families, and a plus vendor team!!
How they met
Justin and Rachel grew up in Bradenton, a small southern town and seaside resort community located on the gulf coast of Florida. The couple grew up less than a mile apart but it was not until they attended UCF as freshman that the two became friends. They grew together and it became clear they had an undeniable bond and love for each other extending beyond a friendship and began dating in 2011.
Justin proposed to Rachel while on vacation in Hawaii in May of 2018. We were making the voyage up the road to Hana and stopped at Black Sand beach to check out the sites and stretch their legs. Justin ended up finding the perfect place to propose, atop a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Both intimate and romantic– and a complete surprise to Rachel!
The wedding day
Their wedding was originally planned at Orchid Garden for this same date. Six months ago I got tear filled call from Rachel who was told that they were closing and were not able to host their wedding anymore. Well lets just say that was a blessing in disguise! It turned out to be such a gorgeous day.
These two got married on the rooftop about 30 minutes before sunset. Surrounded by a huge archway dripping with flowers and a gorgeous glow from the sun that peaked out on such a cloudy day. Absolute PERFECTION!!! I am so thrilled to share a sneak peek from their wedding day…gahhhhhh!!!
Their ceremony and reception were held at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Ceremony was located on the rooftop balcony and the reception in the DeVos ballroom. The ballroom boasting sliding glass walls overlooking beautiful downtown Orlando.
The ceremony space was adorned with white flowers, greenery hedges, and a rectangular arch. The modern and romantic reception flaunted asymmetrical floating centerpieces and candles, As well as a glistening chandelier centered over a twinkling dance floor.
Rachel said she experienced a culmination of calmness, peace, and overwhelming feelings of love and gratitude. Aside from marrying our best friend, we were most excited to celebrate this special time with the people we love most in this world in the beautiful city where we fell in love and call home.
