Laura and Billy’s gorgeous wedding in the Park on Park Avenue in Winter Park

I am still in awe from Laura and Billy’s Winter Park Park Avenue wedding! Saturday morning I work up to a tone on my phone about a tornado watch. I had been watching the weather like a hawk the past few days because a big storm was making it’s way towards central Florida. Just in time for Laura and Billy’s wedding day…ekkk! They had planned a ceremony at St. Margret Mary with a tented outdoor reception to follow in the park at Central Park on Park Ave. The VERY FIRST wedding ever to be hosted in Central Park I might add!

Well people just know that good things happen to good people! No joke about 20 minutes before I was supposed to take Laura and her bridesmaids out the clouds parted, rain stopped and THE SUN CAME OUT!!!

It was the most perfect day, with the most perfect couple!

Laura and Billy met on a dating app, Bumble, two years and a few months ago. Laura was going to to medical school at UCF. Billy is an orthopedic trauma rep. Between their crazy busy schedules they would have never met each other if it wasn’t for that app! Laura said she knew I was going to marry Billy after the first date. She said she even told her mom, and she was like “shut up, Laura!” Billy proposed right before their two year anniversary, on June 22nd. He proposed near Lake Eola in the grassy area of the park on the gazebo side of the lake.

The Proposal

Laura told me a bit about the proposal and said “It was too funny (and scary) because he had asked both of our parents to be there. Since our families are so close and they play such a massive part in our relationship. There was a thunder storm while we were at dinner before we walked over there. My family sat in the thunder hiding beneath one of the trees where he ended up proposing. They were there for almost an hour before we had finally walked over. Even though I knew from the very beginning I was going to marry him, I had absolutely no idea Billy was going to propose that night or else I would have worn waterproof mascara. It was very sweet though, and so incredible that we got to share that moment with our parents.
