Lisette & Domenic’s Bella Collina Wedding
We met Domenic and Lisette in January 2015 and new immediately that we loved them! They are kind, funny, totally get our sarcasm and are all around good people. We share a love for Disney, both have big Italian families, and a love for photography , match made in heaven x2! These two are so into each other, they finish each other sentences and Lisette has the biggest smile on her face when she talks about Domenic and Domenic is head over heels for her, it is like young love 13 years in the making! Seriously we love these two, we are honored to call them friends and excited for many Disney double dates in the future!
Domenic and Lisette are slight Disney buffs, we actually photographed their engagement session there last year. Domenic took Lisette to Disney on a weekend getaway in December 2014. Lisette said she always thought she would know when he would propose because she can read him better than anyone. But their trip was so spontaneous that she wasn’t expecting a thing. During their stay at the Polynesian they took a stroll over to the Grand Floridian to check out their newly built wedding pavilion. When they arrived we noticed the gates were “closed” but upon further notice they realized someone forgot to lock the gate, so they opened it.Lisette said the scene was out of a book, just breathtaking beautiful! A wedding arch sits on the water that overlooks the castle at Magic Kingdom. It was just Domenic and Lisette taking in the surreal moment. It was times like this that Lisette would usually joke about where Domenic should propose to her but before she got a chance to joke around with him, the next thing she knew, the proposal was happening. <3
We wanted to know what inspired their vision for their wedding and here is what Lisette said..”Believe it or not, it was the venue itself. I always thought I’d get married in the mountains somewhere but when I laid eyes on Bella Collina in a blog on Pinterest, I just fell in love! That Tuscany feel, hillside look was just what I didn’t know I wanted. I wanted to keep things as “natural” as possible with a slight garden bohemian feel, much like my personality.”
What was your favorite design element from your wedding? “I loved the flower crowns that Lee James created for our flower girls, it might have been my favorite part- it just worked well with the tutus I had made for them and the whole “garden” themed I envisioned. “
What were some of your favorite DIY details from your wedding? “We had way too many DIY details that looking back, I could have done without. We infused our own olive oil with rosemary and gave them out as wedding favors, we mossed all of our table numbers and letters for the farm tables, I “chalked” all the signage we had around the venue, we built the corn hole boards and the giant jenga, and we created our cocktail hour center pieces with a bunch of candles and lanterns from Ikea. We also got with a glass company called Unity in Glass to help with our unity ceremony, they sent us some blowing glass to merge in unity and we sent it back and they created a one of a kind vase for us to cherish forever.”
What was the most memorable part of your wedding day? “Oddly enough , the rain!, I spent days praying that it would be nothing but sunshine because that is what I envisioned for our wedding day It wasn’t until I was standing at the alter with Domenic that it just started to rain , but instead of panicking I just looked at him and he smiled and it was at that moment that I know nothing could ruin this day, not even the rain!”
