Cypress Grove Estate House | Sangria styled wedding | Orlando wedding photographer
We were so honored to have been asked to photograph one of RW Events style series this summer, Katie of RW Events did such an awesome job putting all of the pretty details together. We beat the rain by minutes and wrapped up our shoot with this gorgeous couple just in time. We of course love all of the citrus colors and fun summery feel to this shoot and we hope you love it too!

A bit behind the design concept from Katie of RW Events, the designer of this spectacular shoot!! I wanted to create a Sangria inspired shoot, and I wanted to do the exact opposite of typical. Not a dark wine cellar, but a bright and airy feel. In this shoot you will find the vibrant Pantone colors of Cayenne, Celosia Orange, Freesia and Hemlock. These colors are found naturally in the fruit used to make our White Sangria; Oranges, Strawberries, slices of Peaches, and Raspberries. These same colors inspired the floral, and greenery. With added accents of bright pink, gold, light blue and creamy milk glass, we created a fun and flirty atmosphere for this Sangria inspired shoot. The shoot featured many DIY elements, because frankly, DIY makes me happy. Most every piece you see in this shoot was made from scratch, refinished, or enhanced in one way or another. The wooden Sangria Bar was made from reclaimed wood, and featured “upgraded” wine glasses (gold painted bottoms), creamy light blue painted wine bottles, a custom sangria sign and refinished wooden crates used as the sangria stands. Some of those same handmade elements carried over to the head table, which also featured handmade placemats, refinished chairs, and a farm table cut, built and stained right in our studio. The seating are featured our stunning gold refinished dresser.
One DIY element you will find throughout the shoot is “blue washed” wood. The Sangria sign, placemats, and Sangria stands all donned this soft finish. I love using wood in any way possible, and was trying to think of how to incorporate it in the shoot. I didn’t want to just paint the wood because then you lose the grain pattern (and that’s the best part about wood!) I decided to wash the pieces in a light blue hue. This is done by applying a small amount of paint brushed on the wood, and then while the paint is still wet, wiping the paint off with a damp rag. You can repeat this process until you acquire the desired shade. Once dry, I added the calligraphy with a gold paint pen. This look allowed me to incorporate color without covering the wood completely!
