It’s amazing to see the different ways people react to stressful, nervous situations. The anticipation of the big day, the day that has been planned for months, the day that everything has to go perfect. Everyone reacts differently to this day. I know that I reacted in a very different way to my wedding day than Amalie did and being in this business, I have seen many, many different reactions. I have to say though, Sydney and Stephen were on the same page, and if there is a right page to be on, this has to be it. The nerves were there, they always are, but you could tell that they both knew that the guests, the food, the ceremony, the party and all the other things planned that day would fall exactly into place as long as the thing that mattered most was put first and foremost. That thing, the one that matters above all others, the one that will stay forever, the reason this party is happening in the first place, is what they both wanted and both knew they had. That thing was each other. From the way he looked at her for the first time, to the way he helped her navigate the streets of downtown, Stephen knew he had all that he needed. And Sydney, from the nervous fidget of her hands as she approached the only person that mattered at that moment, to the way she floated through the streets of downtown, knew exactly what this day was about. These were truly magical first look photos, not for the composition, or for the lighting, or for the angles, but for the people.
Sydney and Stephen, Amalie and I had an amazing time. You guys were incredible and I hope that anytime you look back at these pictures you will always keep in your mind the thing that truly matters, you two.
Here’s to Sydney and Stephen, may your lives together always be as good as the music that filled the room of your biggest dance party yet.
XOXO~Amalie & Jeff
