Victoria and Chris Fort DeSoto engagement session

Saturday we spent the evening with Victoria and Chris for their Fort DeSoto engagement session!  This is an amazing beachside park near Saint Petersburg Florida. This is same park where Chris proposed while they were spending an afternoon kayaking and picnicking on the North Beach.  Crystal blue waters, sweet little birds and the most beautiful sunset that I ever did see. We got to adventure around the little island with them and they showed us all the great spots!

We are so incredibly excited to photograph their wedding at Isleworth Golf & Country Club next January!!

Urban picnic date night | Orlando Photographer

Whether you’ve been dating for a year or married for 15, going out on regular date nights is so important. It fuels that bond and gives you that together time that everyone needs. And if it is super easy and budget-friendly? Well that’s even better. I was lucky enough to photograph Ashley Brooke and her sweet hubby for a date night,  bike ride around Winter Park and a sweet urban picnic with champagne!.  Ashley shared 4simple tips for crafting your own neighborhood date night with the one you love. And champagne is most certainly on the menu. Here is a little sneak peek from our shoot with Ashley and Ryan yesterday evening!

From Ashley Brooke Designs… Ever since my husband and I started dating, we’ve been doing neighborhood date nights. It’s a little tradition of ours that has stuck. We love going on them, and we love how easy it is to make them happen! Honestly, it’s so simple to throw a few things together in a picnic basket and head out for a sunset bike ride after a long day of work. Not only does it get us outside, but we also get the chance to actually enjoy our neighborhood. These dates are budget friendly, but they feel extra special! If you haven’t tried a neighborhood date night, follow my tips below. I pinky promise this is about to be your new favorite date night tradition.City picnic bike date night session | Orlando photographer

1. Dress It Up..Even though you’ll just be biking around town, it’s fun to feel just a little fancy! Put on a pretty easy-to-wear sundress and a pair of flats (something you can easily pedal in!). You don’t want to wear anything over the top, but you, of course, want to wear something that makes you feel like it’s date night.City picnic bike date night session | Orlando photographerCity picnic bike date night session | Orlando photographerCity picnic bike date night session | Orlando photographerCity picnic bike date night session | Orlando photographerCity picnic bike date night session | Orlando photographer

2. Pack a Picnic..Whether you pack a full dinner or snacks, pick up a little something that will make the night extra fun. I always bring a bottle of champagne or wine because either makes the night feel really special. I also love having trail mix and strawberries on hand. Just like your outfit, keep things simple!City picnic bike date night session | Orlando photographer

3. Find a Spot..On your drive home from work, take an extra loop around your neighborhood. Are there any parks, benches, or pretty stoops that you could use for your picnic? If so, make a note! It’s always good to have a plan and to know where your bike or stroll is about to take you.City picnic bike date night session | Orlando photographer

4. Time It Right..It’s really easy to miss the sunset, so make sure you check the sunset time on your phone before you head out on your adventure or you’ll be biking in the dark. This has happened to us more than once!City picnic bike date night session | Orlando photographer

Amanda & Aaron’s ALFOND INN WEDDING

Wow what a gorgeous day on Saturday, these two beautiful people jumped the broom and made it official! As always the amazing Lisa of Lisa Stoner Events made our brides dreams come true with details for days and a perfectly executed design. A ballroom filled with lush floral and TREES that reminds the bride of her happy place, a Junkanoo band to give nod to the brides island heritage, the cutest pups you ever did see, you guys it was a dream. We are thrilled to welcome the new Dr. & Mrs. Campbell.

From the planner/ design Lisa about the design process: Amanda and Aaron’s wedding planning story was not unlike many professional couples today; Aaron as a budding oral surgeon and Amanda as a full time nurse, pursuing her Master’s Degree in Nursing. Hailing from Texas, Amanda was new to Orlando, and I didn’t want the “overwhelm to take away the joy in the leading months to their wedding.

Amanda very simply explained to me that her favorite place to decompress and have a glass of wine with Aaron was on their backyard deck. It gave her a sense of tranquility in their very busy lives.
That’s all I needed to know! I went forth with the idea to create an elevated and elegant aesthetic by bringing in 12 foot live trees, ferns, garlands of greenery and magical fairy lights intertwined in all of it with the help of my talented design partners.Revealing this enchanting ballroom “backyard” to her and Aaron just before guests were invited inside, was certainly the highlight to the entire process!
