Invitation Suite photography tips

One of our many favorite things to photograph is the invitation suite. They are a special part of your wedding and the first thing your guests will get as a preview of what’s to come at your big day.

Here are a few tips on how we photograph the invitation suite…

1.We always ask our couples to send us their paper-goods ahead of time. We shoot all the paper goods the following day, this saves us some time on the wedding day to style it and play with all of the prettiness.

2.We ask the floral designer ahead of time if they can give us a few loose extra flowers and greenery or if we can take one of the table arrangements at the end of the night.

3. We always have ribbon, I love a great silk ribbon to bring in a bit of softness to the image. I got this one from  Silk & Willow, and the color is antique white which seems to go with everything!

4. White board is amazing for shooting paper goods, it is a true white and has a matte finish so the invitations just pop of the board. I bought ours for $4  from the local craft store.

5. Have some props to play with. We bought little finger bowl dishes to put flowers in as well as vintage stamps which we found on Etsy. This always adds a little extra and looks amazing!

6. And last but not least great light… I always shoot on my back porch, it is a nice covered area with even light, that is the key!

Please let us know if you have any questions about how we shoot, we are happy to help!

Katelynn - WOW! I would have never even thought to have the suite saved to photograph the next day! That’s a pretty genius idea!ReplyCancel
