Bohemian styled wedding in the woods | Geodes & Dreamcatchers
I have been dreaming of doing a shoot that incorporated geodes for the longest time now. I grew up in a family with two gemologists and my mom always had a huge collection of rocks, crystals and geodes that I loved as a kid. Emily and I came up with the concept and then brought together an amazing group of creatives to make this dream a reality. I love, love, love how it all turned out! XO~Amalie
About our shoot from Emily at Emily Grace Designs: We just adore bold jewel tones, natural textures, and beautifully organic weddings, and our ” Geodes and Dreamcatchers” inspiration was born out of exactly that. The mix of rich metallics, glittery geodes, and hand-dyed linens provided a beautiful balance of nature and elegance. The dreamcatchers brought a beautiful whimsical feel, and served to protect our couple by entangling any bad dreams of their future while allowing the good dreams to slip through and bless their marriage.
The shoot took place at a local conservation area that is full off the most gorgeous oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. Every bit of the park was filled with overgrown natural beauty, and proved to be the perfect backdrop for our shoot. We chose to utilize our environment and bring in pieces that felt very natural and organic. Bold wildflower blooms, leafy greenery, and succulents melted into our surroundings, while the hand-dyed linens, large farm table, bold-colored geodes and metallic vessels provided a contrast to the landscape. Caroline Creates and The Sugar Suite used the strong colors and angular shapes from the geodes to bring dimension to the paper goods and cake design. The result was pure magic!
